No school= Happy Kids!!!

I'm home with 4 kids, it's super cold and windy out and I'm slowly losing my mind :)

I won't be participating in Family Friday today, too much going on in my house to focus!

Manic Monday!

What a night!

Mad Man's father called last night to tell me his MeMaw(his great grandmom) had passed away. My husband and I had to tell him, it was very hard. MeMaw was a super sweet lady, and I'll miss her. Mad Man seemed better this morning, and asked me to make sure I got him some new pants for the funeral. Always thinking ahead,that one.

She had Lou Gehrig's disease. I wish I didn't know what happens to the lovely people that are diagnosed with this horrible disease. My grandpop (mom's dad) passed away in July 04 and my Aunt Joanne(mom's sister) passed away in November 09 from Lou Gehrig's. I'm so worried, because it's on both sides of Mad Man's family.

Stinky was sick all night. We all didn't get much sleep. She's feeling better this morning, but of course can't go to school. I wish we knew why she is sick all the time. The Drs. are stumped. The poor thing has missed so much school, and she loves school so much.

I'm feeling ucky, I've finally caught the cold that my husband had. Darn him :)

I wanted to post about the 2 awesome awards I won and to pass on the fun. I'm just not feeling up to it. I also have to get a tutu made for a trade, and finish a Dotee for a suprise.

A little info- Pickle is my oldest, he's 16. Mad Man is my middle man, he's 9. Stinky is my daughter, she's 5. Tater is my 'baby', he's 2.

My first Family Friday post

I've decided to write a little about myself and my family.

I'm Rebecca, wife to one, mom to 4 kids and 2 furry kids. I'm 39 and will be 40 in little over a month.

I love dark roast coffee at home and non fat lattes on the run. I read everything I can get my hands on, and crossword puzzles are my nemesis :). I collect vintage cat and kitchen items, Maneki Neko (lucky cats) and phrased trivets. I like to sew (not the best, but trying), make buttons, tutus and Dotees. I recently found Dotees on Swapbot.com and really enjoy making them. Baking is my passion! I hope to finally finish college once Tater is in school. I would like to finish the last 2 years, and get my Culinary degree.

The town I live in is small, but we are centrally located. Harrisburg is close and DC/Baltimore are just a little farther. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains. The weather is decent, though with all the snow we are having, I thought we moved upstate!

My family consists of one younger husband, we've been together for about 8 years, married for 5 years this St. Patty's day. He is everything I ever dreamed about and more. He pursued me until I went out with him. It's been lovely ever since. We aren't perfect, but that's makes our relationship all the better.

My oldest son is 16 and a junior in High School. He attends Vo-Tech, his choice of study is HVAC- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. He plans on attending Harrisburg Area College, studying HVAC. Pickle is a quiet, loveable, smart arse kid. He is my honor student, that HATES homework.

My middle son is 9 and is currently in 3rd grade. He is quick to temper, huggable and full of stories. He is my 'I don't like school' kid, and it's only 3rd grade! Mad Man is the caring kid, making sure your doing okay, and always trying to make you smile with his silly jokes.

Stinky is my 5 yr. old tomboy Kindergarten princess. She is strong, independent and loves her Daddy with a fierce passion. She takes after me, and loves school. Loves learning new things, plays hard and can keep up with the boys. She is never shy with kisses, and won't leave the house without one.

Tater is my surprise Christmas Eve baby. Yes, he's still my baby. He is 2 and keeps me on my toes. He is always going, going, going. He is the busiest, most inquisitive and loveable little guy. He has to wear his hat everywhere, cause Daddy does.

My cats are Mikey and Putt-Putt. Mikey is kinda fat, laid back and has just a touch of grumpy. Putt-Putt is a svelte, puffy tailed, sweet lady. She has an obsession with the ice machine on the fridge.

That's all I have to say about me right now. I could go on and on, but don't want to post a novel :)

Moving forward....

Sometimes, life puts up road blocks. It's best to stop, think and decide whether to put it in drive and move forward with a positive attitude or just stay parked and let life pass you by.

Felt hearts and glitter glue!

The hearts and glitter glue Jenine sent me got together and this is what happened-

A heart for every family member even the cats!!!

My goodies from the Blogger's Valentine Swap!

I signed up for the Blogger's Valentine Swap over at The Mommy Files.

I got partnered up with a really sweet chick, Jenine at BadgerMomma She has a fun blog and I've enjoyed sharing emails with her.

I received my package yesterday, ripped it open and was happy with everything!

*She sent a lovely Cranberry/Almond soap made by her, along with a heart scrubbie. The soap smells lovely, what a talented lady!

*Lots of great decorations- felt hearts, red heart ornaments and conversation heart garland.

*A really Valentiney pot holder, towel (hearts all over it!) and wash cloth. I'm not sure how she knew, but I've been needing pot holders, Hooray!!!!!

*Glitter glue (my daughter has shamelessly claimed it) and pretty heart ribbon.

*Sweets- Yummy!! Conversation hearts and an all time favorite, Hershey's miniatures (which has already gotten broken into :) ).

This was a fun swap and I enjoyed all the goodies from Jenine! Thanks!!!
